Passion is an essential ingredient in successful business entrepreneurship. The case of top billionaires like Bill Gates, who was very much into technology and programming since his youth, is often cited as role models for new and aspiring people. in business.

However, for future e-commerce entrepreneur Gav Kwok, this mentality can be a trap, especially for beginners with little success or experience.

“You think about some of the greatest entrepreneurs of our time, like Steve Jobs or Warren Buffett or whoever; they talk about the importance of love and of course, people listen to their thoughts,” said Gav. “However, it can be a mistake to follow them exactly for their word because their information contains all the experience and perspective of success. Entrepreneurs, especially the beginners, should look for the core truths of that advice before it is implemented.”

Although Gav still sees it as an important part of entrepreneurship, he supports a different kind of entrepreneurial passion that focuses on results and the path you have to take to get there.

“Most people think, ‘Oh, I have to be passionate about it to do it.’ but that is not the case. I didn’t like my e-commerce business when I started, and I only have the passion now because I’ve grown to be good at it. I think the one thing that is easily relatable is liking your results. It’s easier to find common ground in the things we want, and I’m sure most people want things like success or freedom to do what they want,” he said.
