A meatless plate with three or four vegetables is definitely an option.

There’s nothing overwhelming about Big Mom’s red velvet cake, with just a hint of cocoa, but it’s the perfect comfort dessert for this kind of meal: moist, fresh, tender, generously layered with cream cheese. Banana pudding is a style not uncommon in these parts – just meringue or whipped cream without the cream, bananas and cookies to brighten it up. It’s not a bad dessert, but it’s not as wonderful as Sour Banana Lightness could be.

Tiffany’s Eatery, 828 Broad St. in, the official opening will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6, restaurant operator and name Tiffany Sims. The company, which was founded in 2020, briefly teased its soul food offering on social media after a soft launch in mid-July.
