Caring Place now offers an online portal for neighbors in crisis to begin the application process for financial assistance.
This new link offers neighbors the ability to confidentially complete paperwork, upload documents, and begin the registration process when their schedule allows. The link can be found at caringplacetx.org/gethelp and is also posted outside the Programs and Services Building at 2001 Railroad Avenue in Georgetown, Texas. Neighbors using this link must be within the service area of The Caring Place.
Erin Becnel, Director of Programs and Services, says, “We are excited to announce the addition of this online portal to The Caring Place. This opportunity will offer greater access to financial assistance for neighbors in our community. It is important to us that people who need us have the opportunity to ask for help, even if they are working during our working hours. Now the process can start at any time.
Financial assistance is available to neighbors in crisis in the Caring Place service area. Assistance may include help with utility bills, rent or mortgage assistance, some types of medical bills, or transportation assistance. Identification and proof of crisis are required and can be securely uploaded to The Caring Place portal. A complete list of documents you may need to upload or bring can be found at caringplacetx.org/gethelp. People in need of food assistance should not apply from this portal; they will need to come in person to get their Food Pantry card and shop at the Food Pantry.
As the holidays approach, The Caring Place wants to remind the community of the resources available during what can often be a busy time of year.
Caring Place Food Pantry at 2000 Railroad Avenue will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The food pantry is closed on Thursdays for remote food distribution.
