Setting up the stage
Group H took center stage again on Thursday, with all eyes on Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 37-year-old sent shockwaves through the sporting world this week when news broke that he left his club Manchester United by mutual consentand that he was suspended and fined Football Association two matches with whichever club he ends up at next. Ronaldo skipped his media duties as captain of the national team at the team’s official FIFA press conference on Thursday, but the fans still supported the star.

A win would mark Portugal’s first World Cup opener since 2006. In addition, Ronaldo broke the men’s record in five different FIFA World Cup tournaments as of Thursday.
